Absolutely great! They came and picked up my laptop right after I called, checked in with me throughout the process and dropped it off when they had finished - all for a quarter of the cost GeekSquad quoted me! Definatey recommend them!! My computer is running faster than ever (and of course no more viruses)!

Great onsite service After my business computer stopped working with a presentation due that evening I called Computer Guru in Denver. Mont came onsite to my house 2 hours after I called and before I was finished making a glass of tea my laptop was turned on and booting I couldn't believe it! He informed me that the problem was a sign of mother board failure, and advised me that a new machine might be the way to go sense mine was 5 years older. I listened to him and loved that he took money out of his pocket to advice me the right way. He was also able to recover all of my data onto a external hard drive. My presentation was Saved!! Great Cost wonderful Service!

Great Service! Beyond my hopes! It seems redundant because of all the great reviews here, but it's very true! I own a very busy mortgage shop and my lead processor's PC imploded. Not only did the owner of the company patiently walk through many steps that allowed me to get her rolling, the follow up on site tech did an outstanding job in quickly fixing, but also fixed a couple other issues we had in the office. Reasonable fees, outstanding service...highly recommended!

After hours still helped This company knows the meaning of customer service. My laptop turned into a brick over the holidays. Called Computer guru after hours to get help because I needed it the next day. Ryan Called me back and over the phone helped me get my computer repaired and running. He didn't even charge me for the 15min I kept him on his day off, just wanted me to call again if there was ever anything else I needed I was Floored!

Home Networking After Geek Squad Three months ago I had geek squad come over and try to setup my home network, lets just say that was not a pleasant experience. After it went down last week I called up Justin withComputer Guru they were able to come to my house the next day and have everything up and running in under two hours. The price for this service was $99 (geek squad $239) I happily recommended this company.

Great quick response and success So just wanted to send out a quick thanks to the gurus. I work for a small real estate company in Denver and this morning I all of a sudden got some pop ups saying I had like 35 found viruses on my computer. Being just a little computer literate i know i didnt install this program and just read an article on these sort of fake scanning programs. Well I didnt know what to do from there and had to get work done so I used my other officecomputer to find someone local to fix this. I called these guys out for some pc fixin as they seemed to have great reviews. I called them at around noon and they were there by 1, how sweet! Had my computer working and ready to go in less than 2 hours! Thanks again and will be calling for future needs. Oh, and for people that get this sort of stuff that says you are infected? well, I learned my lesson of not having anti-virus installed...

Computer Guru to the Rescue! I live in Washington, DC and was visiting a friend in Denver for only 2 days. I had spilled coffee on my keyboard while in another city and really needed to have the computer fixed by the time I would be leaving town. Ryan and Jason were fantastic. They picked up the computer when they said they would, diagnosed the problem within a couple of hours and had it back to me within 24 hours. I could not have asked for better service and commitment. Thank you so much!

Phenomenal service! In one of my more graceful moments, I fell down the stairs while carrying my laptop--breaking both my LCD screen and my foot. I was naturally much more upset about my laptop! I hobbled to the computerand found wonderful reviews about the Computer Guru. Within 2 hrs of my (quite literal) systems crash, Mont was at my door to pick up my computer; within 48 hrs, Mont returned with my laptop in perfect working order. Total cost was only $375, which included the $100 for 911 service. Friendly service, speed, pick-up and delivery, all with a great price? I think I must have hit my head!

You guys put Geek Squad to shame Hey, I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks for doing such a quick job on my desktop the other day. You guys put Geek Squad (and whatever Circuit City's old version of Geek Squad was) to shame—you've got my future business and I'll definitely send my friends to you as well as they encounter problems.

Awesome customer service, good price, & fantastic results! My hard drive broke down, I had a blue screen and couldn't even boot up in safe mode. I hate to sound like a broken record, but I have read several stories from these reviews that sound just like mine! I took it to Best Buy and they said they couldn't do anything for me, and still charged me the fee for diagnostics. Then they wanted to send me to their stand alone store downtown. However, thank god I found The Computer Guru's website before I even went down there. I read the reviews from past, satisfied customers, and gave them a call right away. In two days my computer was back up and running better than before with a brand new hard drive. The communication was outstanding and I couldn't ask for better service. If I have any future problems, I will definitely call these guys again!

Wonderful 9001 times better than the rest of computer services in Denver. We requested the removal of a malicious executable and it was taken car of in less than 24 hours, on top of the quickness it was convenient with the free pick up and drop off. Glad to see a honest and legitimate business thriving over the likes of the inefficient and sly geeksquad.

Rush Job Thankyou I was in Denver for business and while I was there my laptop stopped working no power no nothing, being in town for only four days and a big meeting two away I thought I was SOL. So I called around and the Computer Guru were the only ones I found in town that were able to fix my computer within the two days and even with the rush charge that was given still cheaper then most places I called. I wish there was a computer guru in Dallas. Thank you Computer Guru Saved my Butt. Danni J

sold on The Computer Guru These guys are genuine and sincere and got the job done quickly and efficiently at the most reasonable rate. My laptop's hard drive self-destructed at the worst possible moment. Ryan at Computer Guru meticulously checked the drive and explained step-by-step why the drive had failed and what the prognosis was. Extensive tests on the rest of the computer were completed by the end of the day. I needed a new hard drive and all software needed to be reinstalled. Within 48 hours of my computer crash, I had my computer back with a new hard drive in fine working order. A year ago I had similar problems and ended up spending more than twice as much to have the same things fixed. Highly recommended for Computer Repair near denver!

Amazing service So when I woke up the other morning to check e-mail and such, my computer wouldn't start up. I foolishly did not have any of my business contacts or financial information backed up, and promptly began to freak out! After reading reviews I decided to give the Computer Geekz a try. Less than a hour after I called, Josh arrived at my house to pick up the computer. I was told it would be a 3 day turnaround, and they were confident I would get my information back. Lo and behold, I was contacted the next day saying my computer was ready for drop-off. After getting a backup hard drive, Ryan set everything up for me and made sure I knew how to use the system. To say the least I'm very impressed with their level of knowledge and professionalism. Thanks for everything guys!!!

Easy Company To work with Very much care about what they do! Ryan arrived the same day I called for help (the Friday before Labor Day!) and did a great job repairing both my laptop and desktop computers. He was very friendly and prompt, as well as helpful and instructive. I highly recommend this company!!!

If you've been using computers for a decent amount of time there is a good chance someone has told you that data stored on a hard drive is not exactly safe. I'm here to assure you that this is indeed true.
Never mind the fact that unlike tapes or CDs or other methods of storage, hard drives are mechanical, active devices and are thus subject to comparatively rapid breakdown.
No, the real threat to hard drives are the people that use them, by which I mean you and me. Hard drives, being the dynamic storage devices that they are, are extremely easy to erase in any number of amusing and simple to achieve ways... as are USB hard drives and flash memory cards (recovery tips for that media is detailed here).
Working as a computer tech during the glory days of Windows 98, you get rather used to using FDISK and other hard drive utilities to prepare and repair customer's drives, which leads to a certain over confidence. That attitude can lead straight to disaster, sort of like giving a 12 year old boy the keys to an ATV.
Picture this if you will; there I was, two or three sentences and a screen shot away from finishing a 5000+ word article on computer upgrades. All I had to do was fire up FDISK on a dual boot Windows98/XP Pro system and grab a few screen shots. I figured I'd write a little blurb on how to partition a drive, making sure to tell the readers not to mess with FDISK if they were not sure what they were doing…
Yes, there's going to be some irony here.
So anyway, I wanted to get some more screen shots of the actual partitioning screen, but I did not have a blank hard drive handy. I figured I could use my NTFS formatted XP drive (which FDISK perceived as a blank drive) to start the "process," grab the screen shots and then cancel the partitioning.
No problem. Except for one little thing…
I had forgotten that FDISK, in the process of checking the disk before it prompts you for the size of the partition, writes information to certain areas of the hard drive. This data writes over whatever might have been there before. Meanwhile, there I was, watching the '%complete' counter and wondering why a little red warning flag kept going off in my brain? I restarted WinXP and waited for it to boot, and waited... and waited... Oops. What Can We Do?
